Ubuntu CLI DNS Configuration
- In a Terminal, enter: sudo nano /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail
- Delete the entire contents of the file, if anything exists.
- Choose 2 or more nameservers from this list, or the servers at the bottom of this page.
- Enter the following as a new line, replacing the IP address with whichever IP you chose: nameserver 45.55.97.204
- Repeat Step 4 for as many nameserver IP addresses you’ve chosen to use, replacing the IP each time with another one. We recommend using at least 2 to 4 to ensure adequate uptime. Your file should now look something like this:
- Press Ctrl + O on your keyboard, then Ctrl + X to exit Nano.
- Restart your machine, and that's it! You should now be able to resolve domains on the OpenNIC network.
