The Webmastering WG is responsible for maintaining the 3 main websites for the OpenNIC project:
Indirectly, we are also the historians for the group, responsible for preserving the history of OpenNIC and ensuring continued access to OpenNIC artifacts by people who may be interested. Historical links and other artifacts can be found in the OpenNICArchives archives.
Requests
- NOTE: If you are not a Member of the Webmastering Working Group and have a request that is related to the sites, add it to this list NOT the ToDo List.

ToDo List
- NOTE: Members, if you add something to the ToDo List on this page, and anyone (hopefully you) does it, you are responsible to move it to the Done section and strike it out.
- Determine the distinct roles that the website, wiki, and mailing list will play in terms of content (membership).
- Prepare the tiki site for people coming from www.OpenNICProject.org
- Change the META REFRESH hack in www.opennicproject.org/index.html to a proper mod_rewite redirect.
- Setup language specific section links on this page to the Translation Work Groups (I.E. TranslationES).
- Get www.opennicproject.org translated.
Done:
- Select a coordinator.
- Archive old content and move informational content to wiki (Brian)
www.opennicproject.org
Where: http://www.opennicproject.orgInfo: This site is intended to be a static page with one main purpose: Introduce people to the OpenNIC project so they can apply a step-by-step process and start using the alt-root via OpenNIC.
- www To Do Notes:
- CHRISTOPHER: I emailed Julian about changing the apache config so until then the REFRESH hack stays.
Tiki
Where: http://www.opennic.glueInfo: The Tiki is the Main Project Site. It is is a forum for all people using the alt-root and is the Educational and Hobbyist Nexus.
- Tiki To Do Notes:
- (empty)
Wiki
Where: http://wiki.opennic.glue ... also ... http://opennic.jdcomputers.com.auInfo: The Wiki is the Developers/Admins site. "This is where we make the medicine." -- Scare Crow
Currently, the wiki is hosted by Julian (thanks!) and is maintained by both Julian and Brian; Avo has sudo-access. The wiki is powered by WikkaWiki, and is open for contributions from all interested parties. Questions about the wiki can be directed to either Julian or Brian. Brian is active on the wiki development team.
- Wiki To Do Notes:
- ToDo - We are working towards moving some of the more important historical OpenNIC artifacts (charters, TLD information, etc.) over from various sources. At the same time, new content is being added daily. By clicking the RecentChanges Changes link you can see the most recent page revisions and additions. There is also an RSS feed available on this page.
- ToDo - I (Brian) has an almost complete archive of the opennic-discuss mailing list from 2000 (the year of OpenNIC's inception). GMANE appears to be missing some early emails. I am working towards making this archive publicly available.
- gmane appears to have a complete archive, will have to verify...
