Purpose
The Webmastering WG is responsible for maintaining the HomePage wiki, website, and possibly the blog as well. Indirectly, we are also the historians for the group, responsible for preserving the history of OpenNIC and ensuring continued public access to OpenNIC artifacts.ToDo List
- Select a coordinator.
Wiki
Where: http://opennic.jdcomputers.com.auCurrently, the wiki is hosted by Julian (thanks!) and is maintained by both Julian and Brian. The wiki is powered by WikkaWiki, and is open for contributions from all interested parties. Questions about the wiki can be directed to either Julian or Brian.
We are working towards moving some of the more important historical OpenNIC artifacts (charters, TLD information, etc.) over from various sources. At the same time, new content is being added daily. By clicking the RecentChanges Changes link you can see the most recent page revisions and additions. There is also an RSS feed available on this page.
ToDo List
- Determine the distinct roles that the website, wiki, and blog will play in terms of content.
- Implement a Tier 2 registration form (Brian).
Website
Where: http://www.opennic.unrated.netThe website is officially maintained by the founder of OpenNIC, Robin Bandy.
ToDo List
- Determine the distinct roles that the website, wiki, and blog will play in terms of content (membership).
- Determine who will have admin access to the website.
- Archive old content and move informational content to wiki (Brian)
Blog
Where: http://scoop.opennic.unrated.netThe blog runs on Scoop. Rhonda and Chris have offered to update and maintain it.
ToDo List
- Determine the distinct roles that the website, wiki, and blog will play in terms of content (membership).
- Determine who will have access to the blog site.
- Set up/upgrade the existing Scoop instance (Rhonda/Chris)
Other
- I (Brian) has an almost complete archive of the opennic-discuss mailing list from 2000 (the year of OpenNIC's inception). GMANE appears to be missing some early emails. I am working towards making this archive publicly available.
- gmane appears to have a complete archive, will have to verify...
