Android DNS Server Configuration (Non-rooted)


Note: These instructions will prevent you from using a VPN service simultaneously. We are working on a solution. In the meantime, if you require the use of another VPN service you can change DNS settings manually in Settings, but it will only apply on WiFi connections, not 3G/4G.
  1. Download DNS Changer from the Google Play Store.
  2. Under Choose a DNS Provider, select Custom DNS (Enter manually).
  3. Choose two IP addresses from this list, or use the two at the bottom of this page.
  4. Enter the IP addresses you’ve chosen into the DNS 1 and DNS 2 fields in DNS Changer.
  5. Press Start. Allow the app to create a VPN network.


Closest Tier 2 servers to your location (ordered from nearest to farthest and sorted by reliability and unique administrators):



After completion: The app should now turn green, and you will be able to browse OpenNIC websites. Test it out by visiting any domain hosted on OpenNIC (such as grep.geek)!
