Wiki source for VolunteerHosts
@@=====Volunteer Hosts=====@@
The following users and IPs are volunteering to operate OpenNIC hosts:
Administrative Servers
The Aggregate Master (Tier0) and Master Pool (Tier1) servers provide the necessary foundation for maintaining and distributing the essential OpenNIC DNS name resolution function.
Public Access Servers
These are servers intended for use by end users whose network providers do not yet support ""OpenNIC"". They are volunteer services run by whoever is volunteering them.
Public Access Servers are monitored by the AuditingWG which provides public links to their monitors where you can verify current and historic status.
To volunteer your host for service of the OpenNIC zones, configure it per the instructions and the Specification. If you'd like it formally listed and acknowledged, and added to our monitoring (which can notify you of problems), join the mailing list and introduce yourself.
