For all zones in OpenNIC's aggregate root, Tier1 servers provide authoritative response or referral to non-recursive queries from other domain name servers, such as the Tier2 servers. They are not appropriate for general use.
They are also available as slave servers for OpenNIC SponsoredTLDs
Current Tier1 servers are listed on the Tier1Status page.
Tier1 servers are coordinated by the HostmasteringWG Hostmastering Working Group.
